“Design as a professional discipline is concerned with defining and providing solutions to problems. While an egocentric approach to design may be absolutely appropriate in some cases, the growing complexity of today’s problems demands a strategy that goes beyond the designer’s head to encompass the knowledge of others and/or knowledge gained through direct interaction and experimentation.”
Mark Feiden holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Design, a Masters Degree in Interaction and Information Design, and has more than 20 years of professional experience solving problems in both the physical and digital environments. Mark is a staunch advocate of “human-centered design”—a philosophy that places real users central to the development process. In addition to his work for us, Mark has taught in the Design Department at the University of Kansas.
For enjoyment, Mark is involved in a regional publishing business with his family and is himself a published landscape and social-documentary photographer. |
